“Master” is the most beautiful result of linebreeding design!

The plan was breeding a grandson of AM.CAN.CH.CEDARWOODS MASTER GUNNER,W.C. to a granddaughter providing a strong influence from ‘Master Gunner’.

The ‘outcross’ or different half of the pedigrees for these two grandchildren are English dogs each very prepotent for head, coat and thick-compact body type. Therefore ‘the plan’ was to ‘keep’ the soundness, drive and balanced structure from “Master Gunner” and ‘add’ depth, head piece and compactness from the English dogs.
“Master” was brought out for the first time at the Pugest Sound Labrador Retriever Specialty August ’06.

He placed 2nd in both his sweeps class and under the English judge in reguslar classes. At the British Columbia Labrador Retriever Club specialty 2 weeks later, he was 1st in sweeps and 2nd in regualr classes under Judy Chambers (Ghostone). The Frasier Valley Dog Shows gave him a real chance to exhibit under international judges.

The first day, her was Reserve Winners Male over adults and Best of Breed Puppy under the judge from Mexico. The following day, he was again awarded RWD, Best of Breed puppy and Sporting Group 1st(puppy) under Miguel V Pinto Teixeira from Portugual and the third day, Mr.Tast from Finland gave him Winners Dog and Best of Winners for 2 points.

The Island and Pacific LRC brought Heather Wiles-Fone from England to judge and she gave “Master” class 2nd and his sire “Phoenix” Best Stud Dog. The following two days were the largest dog shows in Canada.

The following two days he was placed 1st in 9-12 puppy and Reserve Winners Dog and Mrs.Stacy from N.C. also gave him Sporting Group 1st.

This stunning puppy absolutely loves the water ! He’s never dry. He has the most amazing attitude and will do anything he thinks please me. We are indeed blessed with this puppy.

"Phoenix" is the result of a breeding of a stunning daughter of Am Can Ch CEDARWOODS MASTER GUNNER, W.C. (Can Ch Cedarwoods Ivyhill Absolut) to Am.CH.Langshott Gale Force From Kimvalley ("Garry") who was imported from England at 6 months of age.

With "Absolut's" pedigree very strongly linebred on Black Arrogance, Garry was carefully chosen as an outcross.

Garry is extremely strong for "type"(Head, coat, tail), as well as being very short coupled and with strong bone.

Halle is from Phoenix's first litter and is a beautiful example of strength and balance. She has a lovely length of neck and upper arm giving her a very nice fore chest.

She has great rear angulation and moves powerfully and with agility.

Her coat is deep and hard and sheds water even after crashing repeatedly into the water. Her head is blocky with dark, expressive eyes.

She is so beautifully sound and robust. She was shown the first time at a set of shows with major entries at 10 months, old handled by Taryn Hamilton (a top junior handler in Canada).

She defeated adult males and females earning her first championship points and then, won a competitive Sporting Group 1st (puppy).

“Roca” was ‘created’ over several generations of carefully breeding sound, producing Black/blacks to chocolates.

Her dam, “Jasmine” was by design, the combination of Black/blacks who were linebred on AM.CAN.CH.Monarch’s Black Arogance,CD,WC bred to the stunning chocolate dog AM.CAN.CH.Cedarwoods Gunner O’ Fawnhaven, CD,WC,J.H.,S.H. (“Shooter”)

This gorgeous chocolate male is actually linebred on “Black Arogance” over three generations. “Shooter” was given to Don and Barbara Ironside as a puppy with breeding access and became one of the few labradors for a time to be a conformation champion as well as Senior Hunter titled. “Shooter” was awarded Reserve Winner Dog at the National Specialty in Wisconsin at 18 months old under a top European judge.

He was awarded many time first place in competitive Stud Dog classes at Specilaties in the United States and Canada before passing away at 15 ½ years old.

“Roca” came to us in a most amazing way; Truly ‘from God.’ She matured into a beautiful girl and was presented at some of the largest championship shows in Washington, handled beautifully by Briana Jeffers.

She was awarded multiple Reserves to Major entries, displaying amazing front assenbly, thick coat and fluid movement. She was only shown a few times in competitive shows in Canada with multiple Best of Breeds and won the sporting group the first time entered as a champion.

“Roca” is powerful in the field and cuts through deep water like a ‘hot knife through butter.’ She is pure enthusiasm as she delivers to hand, then begging to go again and again !
